Adjusting TPS

I tested the signal on my TPS today (86 305 TPI) but had a hard time getting a reading on my perfectly good voltmeter. I tried poking and prodding, using jumpers, etc until I think I finally got a fairly reliable reading. Tried then to open to WOT to see how the TPS signal escalated but again, couldn't get it to give me a reading. at this point I figured I'd drive the car to recharge my battery since it had been on for so long.

I know we have to wiggle the leads around to get a reading, but this was crazy. Could I have a bad TPS? Thanks for any advice.

Theres a good article how to do this at www.iroczone.com, i tried it myself and couldnt get a reading at first either, but you probably have to push the tips into the TPS further

thanks for the link. I was actually following the directions from this article, but I had a printer friendly version without the pics. The guy stuck his leads in the back end of the wires...something I wasn't doing.
