EGR/Head question

hey guys, the EGR valve, when it opens to let exhaust gasses in to be reburned, where do those gases flow through the heads? do the gasses go in all cylinders? or just 2? i noticed on the edelbrock intake it only has an egr runner in the middle on both sides.

The EGR gets the ex. from one cylinder passage in each head on most SBCs, this is then distibuted to all cylinders via a passage under the carb/TBI (on your performer look for a hole under the carb.) and to the throttle plates on most tuned port styles.

Keep in mind this is just a general idea, there are a ton of different styles out there.

To answer the question, the gasses come from 2 cylinders, and go to all.

ok i'm trying to figure out why i'm burning oil in 2 cylinders, i dont think it's the rings cause it would smoke all the time wouldnt it?, compression test checks out fine, it doesnt burn oil when started or driving normally, if you open it up and downshift at high rpms, clouds come out, i'm wondering if it has something to do with the fuel vapor canister hoses being pluged in with the pcv valve vaccum hose... anyone have opinions??
