Windshield Wipers!
Who hasn't been cruizin' down the road lookin' smooth and then suddenly the clouds roll-in and you reach to hit the wipers and they D--R--A--G accross the windshield of your perfectly tuned machine.
What's up with that?
I've changed the blades. Even the meddle arms on the blades. (Not the arms themselves, but the rubber blade's arms).
Anyone ever fix this?

Rem,
I'll be first in line for the beatings, since I never used my wipers (seriously). I'm not even sure they work any more. I've got them stuck on the shipping blocks so they don't lose the spring tension as quickly in case I ever so need to use them.

MY WIPERS SCRAPED OFF A LINE OF PAINT ON MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD FRAME. My uncle said a lot of GM cars have bad wipers that are too big for the windshield. His car does the same thing. WTF I HATE THAT now i need a new paintjob

Wipers, what wipers.....I took mine off the car. I just use Rain-X now.....works like a champ
Believe it or not, there is a GM bulletin about this problem. GM recommends using some cleaner they have (supposedly like Bon-Ami) to clean the glass. This is supposed to help with that problem.

I hate annoying stuff like that. YES, I know exactly what you're talking about. Two things to do:
You've got a buildup of probably wax on the windshield. Mix a batch of 25% rubbing alcohol, 25% pure white vinegar and 50% water in a spray bottle and use that to clean the windshield. Works a LOT better than ordinary glass cleaner at getting the buildup off.
Also, make sure the wiper blades are actually 90* to the windshield surface. They are almost always leaning the wrong way for that fist cricical stroke across the glass. Bend (twist, actually) the wiper arm with a pair of adjustable wrenches with the insides of the jaws taped off with a little masking tape or duck tape so you don't hurt the paint on the wiper arm. I actually bend mine a little past 90* so the first stroke across the windshield the rubber blade has a good shot at flipping in that direction instead of dancing across the windshield on it's edge.
I think this will clear up your problem.
