Ok I'm getting ready to put the final touches on my new engine. Here's what I'm confused about. Do I need self aligning rockers and/or pushrod guide plates?? The car is an 89 IROC-Z.

if your rockers have little ridges on the tip where they contact the valve they are SA and you need to replace them with what you have. RB pretty well covers it in the other thread.

Ok well my new AFR heads have guideplates already installed in them so I'm guessing I should get non-self aligning rockers then??

Right... you can't use 2 systems for rocker alignment at the same time. If you rheads have guide plates, you need regular non-SA rockers.
