Odd idle problem
This is on my 1991 GMC Jimmy 4d 2wd 4.3L tbi.
I start it up and it idles too high and it continues to idle high after the engine is warmed up(15 minutes). Here is the odd part: If I move the shifter down just a little bit(still in park, but closer to reverse) the idle goes down to normal gradually(it takes about 3 seconds or so). Then the idle remains normal until even if it's put back up to the top of park or any other gear. It does this everytime I start it up. Idle compensates with the AC on, so I'm guessing the IAC is working correctly. I set the minimum air, reset the computer a bunch of times. The computer has no codes and all the sensors test out good. Anybody have any ideas? Even a guess? thanks,
Nate
