l69s are pretty much optimized. They pushed compression and cam timing as much as they could for the 305. I suggest putting a 373 gear in the back and preparing for the old 350 swap

Well...i hate to sound like a....umm...well like i'm playing favoritism. If you wish to tweak your motor, goto the DIY board, read Traxion's tech article on prom tuneing..and start from there. It would be alot easier for you with a basically stock motor. Then as you add different modifications you can tweak it a little more and get the added benefit.

-Performance Resource Chip
-700R4 (Rebuilt) Too much done to actually list
-K&N Airfilters
-Ported Plenum
-2.77 Gears (not much to brag about but eh, its there)
-MSD 8.5 mm plug wires
-Gutted cat

Tweeked my L69 with mods that would transfer
to a 350 that I am presently swapping in.
The L69 is a great motor you should be running a whole second faster then you are
now. See signature for a good place to start.

i myself donot have a l69, but one thing i have learned is read almost every article on this board, you wil learn alot about how the cars work and what mods and things that you can tweak will actually work. good luck
