oil for high milage
While buying oil for my 03 GP I noticed a new kind of oil on the shelf at napa. It's labeled High Milage Formula and claims to increase performance and and protect engines with 75,000 or more miles. Being Napa brand oil is made by Valvoline, I wondered if this was a return to the old formula with motaloy?
or did they start adding a small portion of slick 50 type formula with a seal softener.
If anyone knows anything about it I would app. your info on the subject or if anyone has started using it what your opinion is on how it's working! Thanks Sqzbox.

It's been discussed before. Rather than doing it for you, I'll let you do the
If you go to the Valvoline website, you'll see what they claim for the stuff. Mostly it's a relatively successful marketing ploy for increasing your engine life by reducing the strain on the engine by reducing the weight of your wallet.

I'd suggest staying with the major brands, like Amsoil or Mobil. Some of these also-ran, Johnny-come-lately wannabees don't have nearly the track record and reliability of either of those.

My 88 IROC has about 150k on the clock, so I'd say she's "high mileage". I run M1 5W-30 in her. This coming summer I'm thinking of going to M1 Truck and SUV oil. That, plus a good filter (K&N) is all you need.

Tremo!
Just happened to notice where your from. I've spent many summers panning up in the Downiville area. Must be nice living in ***'s country! My dad and I have brought many rainbow's and a few Brown's back to the frying pan and a lot of gold too!
One piece of addvice though, don't ever move away! I've been trying to get back there for years. My dad now has a claim up on hwy49 now and bought an RV park. I only hope I can get back there with him again someday before it becomes an inheritance!
Take care, sqzbox
