Spark plug help!

Spark plug help!

im changing the plugs on my 84 305 h.o.
my question is under the hood it says my gap should be .35 but everywhere i look on the internet says use .45. so what should i use? or will it really make a differance? thanks.

Assuming your hood is the original one that came factory installed on the car I would use the gap Spec. stated on the underhood sticker.

If it's stock ignition I'd use stock specs. I'd check a shop manual to be sure of the gap though.
