Is it time to let my baby (86 Camaro) go?
Is it time to let my baby (86 Camaro) go?
My 86 (305) has accumulated around 218,000 miles on her, and I think shes had it. In order to get it in good condition I will have to fix the following...
Exhaust- current system is rusty w/holes and one of the tailpipes rusted off after being welded back on.
Paint- the hood is faded but most of the car needs to be painted.
Weatherstripping- T-tops leak as well as the hatch by the top light.
Alignment- since this is the most urgent, Im getting it taken care of next week
Brakes- messed up due to realignment
AC/Heat/Defrost- neither works anymore
Wheels- got nice ones but one of the caps inside of the rim flew off today
The interior & antenna is also messed up.
Also a hose has become unnattached and the engine idles hard.
Lately Ive been looking at SUVs because my mom REFUSES to assist me with the buying of anything not 4wd, especially another Camaro. She said I need to get something that can get through the snow. Last time I checked, my Camaro made it through the snow. Now those $#!=staings, I mean mustardstains, I saw alot of them pulled over in the snow. Ive been looking at the new RAV4 or Santa FE, BUT I am getting a Blazer!

Well, either fix it, or forget it.
I can tell you this, you'll never recoup the money you put into it to bring it back into shape.
But then again, most of us don't mod our cars/truck, etc, with resale in mind.
Seems like a good candidate to build up as long as the undercarriage is good.
