Cruise Control reinstallation...what do I need??

I have some questions about cruise control. My car originally had cruise control in it. It's an '82 TA. It no longer has cruise and the major components have been removed. My speedometer doesn't work, and since I need the cruise transducer to make it work, I figured I might as well hook the cruise back up. I have the shop manual and tried to see what parts I need. Here is my list so far:

Transducer
Servo modual
Transducer wiring harness
vacuum lines
cruise throttle cable

My car originally had a Crossfire engine in it. I figure I can still hook the cruise throttle cable to my carb with little modification. Also, in the shop manual it shows some switches at the brake pedal. One is a vacuum release valve, another one is just a brake switch. Im assuming it stops the cruise when the brake is pressed. I read that the vacuum release was a backup in case the electric switch failed. Anyone verify this?? Also, in the diagram of the brake switch it shows a connector at the top (I/P harness cruise control circuit) I cannot find anything in the manual that shows what this plug is. To add to the confusion, in the Chassis Electrical section of the manual it shows the same diagram of the brake pedal and switches. One shows the cruise/stop lamp switch, and next to that is TCC lockup and cruise vacuum switch. Now mind you one of these switches is for a manual trans vehicle, mine is auto. I don't know what is what. Also, where does the vaccum line route from the transducer to inside the car? It looks like the line just hooks up to the switch on the brake pedal...but does it just dead end there? It doesn't show in the manual if the line runs elsewhere. I can see that the cruise switch has a wire that runs down the column where it connects to the cruise control wiring harness and then connects to the transducer. What I really need to know is where/how does the transducer get it's power supply? It has to get it from the cruise switch at some point when it runs down the column, yet no diagram shows how it's powered. Anyone know how it's powered? Lastly I read that there is some kind of cruise "logic box" under the drivers side dash. I dont know if that is in later models but I haven't been able to find anything like that in my shop manual, and it doesn't say anything about it in the Cruise Control section. What about VSS? From the looks of it, VSS was only to control the TCC lockup of the trans and doesn't have anything to do with the cruise, however why would there be a switch on the brake to control TCC functions?? Is it necessary to have the wire hooked up? I should have most of the switches since my car originally had them...but I haven't had time to look on the car. I just what to know what I'm getting into.

Here are some images of the manual diagrams. What is #3 in the top part of the diagram? Where and what does this connect to and do I need it for cruise to work. Notice that #4 and #5 in the bottom diagram say "harness/wiring harness". Looks like vacuum lines to me! Is this where the vacuum lines dead end?

3rd diagram

Note the #3 switch. It is in a different position compared to the other diagrams. Is this only for manual trans cars?? If so why is it part of the brake in this diagram, but part of the clutch in the above diagram?

#3 is part of your dash harness.. should all still be under there unless some one was crazy
#4 -5 the vacuum lines run fron the switches through the firewall up to the cruse control thingie and to the motor
the switches unlock the TC and disengage the CC when you hit the brakes or push in the clutch
the transducer wiring harness, I think, runs through the firewall also... just look under the dash and have a look see to find what you are missing..good luck
could you PM what your hood is made of, if its the factory hood..
