temperture gauge

i own a 92 camaro.having a problem with the temperture gauge on my dash reading wrong,as soon as i crank up it goes all the over to 260 degree, i know this is wrong one thing i have a safety that will shut the motor off to keep it from burning up, also i have replaced all the scencors, sent the dash off to Dallas 180.00 bucks and it reads worse now,the computer reading under the hood reads normal, the guys at chevyland said since i have covered everything else the only thing else it could be is the ecm but it is alot of red tape working with them and it costs out the ying yang just to get to the problem i thought it could be a wire touching but they said it would not work at all soo if anyone can help or have heard of this problem please help signed at my wits end thank-you p.s its not my heads either.

If I remember correctly... when you turn the key to the "start" position the gauges are grounded, which is why they shoot every which way.. And when it's in run, it's supposed to ermm.. not be grounded. :/

But as previously stated, that does sound like a grounding gauge.
