My gas pedal is sticking...

I thinks it's either the fuel filter or the fuel pump. The pedal only sticks when the engine is running, so I know it is not a problem in the linkage. If anyone has any other ideas on what it could be please let me know. Thanks.

If it only occurs while the engine is running, you more likely have a worn throttle body, or possibly a problem with the cruise control vacuum servo valving.

To eliminate the second possibility (even though it is a remote possibility) disconnect the cruise control throttle cable from the belcrank on the throttle shaft.

If you don't have cruise control, disregard that, and concentrate on looking into the throttle body. Check for shaft wear and throttle plate alignment.

Has the TB been cleaned recently? If not, that may actually help the condition, or at least be necessary to inspect for wear.

Would the injectors need to be cleaned also. And, how do I re-align the throttle plate.

Situation update: I haven’t had the time to clean the throttle body yet, but I noticed that when it rains the pedal is fine. It was sticking before the rain we just had and when I drove it today the pedal was fine.

Get a spray can of carburetor cleaner, remove the bellows in front of the TB, and clean everything you see inside the bores. From your description, it sounds like the cleaning alone may solve your problem.

The injectors are not going to be affected by the problem, nor the cleaning, so don't worry about that right now.
