How to tell Rod sizes?

How do I know what size rod is my 350 with out taking it to a machine shop?

Where is the rod, still in the engine, still on the piston, what?

Chances are its a 5.7 rod, thats whats in there stock and most people dont go to the trouble to change the length.

Engine: 350, Vortecs, 650DP
Transmission: TH-350
Axle/Gears: 8.5", 3.42
If it's a stock 350, then it's 5.7" rods. I think the only other rod that'll work is 6.0" rods, but they would have been put in by someone. GM never made them for a 350. Is that what you were asking?

Yeah the rods are still in the engine I was needing to know cause I am building or well having built another 383 and I just got to wonderinf about if there was different rod legnths factory from GM.
