Fluctuating Idle and running rough..

Whats the deal? 350 TBI,,Just got my car back from having the new exhaust and with Hi flow cat installed,...I noticed immediatly the fluctuating idle, and the car shut off on me twice. Now It is not only fluctuating but running rough, like its missing, or something.

When i punch it ...it delays a second , like cough cough,. then winds out and sounds fine running at a high rpm.

DOes this sound like the 02 sensor is going bad? or an arcing wire/electrical?

any ideas?

A little more info would be helpful. When you say a new exhaust system, exactly what in the exhaust system was relpaced?

a wire came loose and was laying against the header,,,,burned through it and its arcing spark now over to the header.

Im just going to get a whole new set and route them right this time.

What do you guys suggest for plug wires and seperators?

I was looking at some Taylor 10.4 mm's in Summit. probably more than i need but they look cool and have a lifetime warranty.

For seperators, the Moroso seperators are made of a good heavy plastic that seems to hold up to under hood heat very well.

I gota agree on the Moroso separators. They are in my 82 Camaro and they look really clean, The plastic is super strong and they are super nice and easy to install, plus they make the wires look neat . So id suggest the Moroso Wire Looms. I paid 19 bucks for mine from the local speed shop.

I bought a cheap set of wires just to get me by now...Im so broke.

I changed all 4 wires on the left side, they were frayed and fried and its amazing the car even ran.

I also bought some cheap seperators, its a temporary setup.,,,but atleast they arent going to get burned up....I also see what i have to deal with when i get a REAL SET of wires.

Im leaning toward the MSD 8.5 mm in red.

Good choice, I'm running those on my 350HO. I bought the universal kit so i could size the wires myself.

Wish I was paying attention when I purchased them though, I woulda bought the red too, instead of black

Next on the list is a MSD 6AL.
