i got a 92 camaro rs, 305 V8.

my friend wants to fix the timing on the car and says it will make it a whole lot faster. will this be good for the engine and does any1 have experience with this? thanks for any advice you can give me.

If u do, u should use some higher octane if u aren't already using it.

The only way it'll make it "a whole lot faster" is if the timing's about 180 degrees off. Assuming that your timing is close to stock now, it's not going to make a huge difference. Slightly noticable, yes. It can also improve gas mileage if yours is too far retarded. As mentioned above, you'll have to run a higher octane if you advance your timing enough, or you'll run into detonation problems.
