However, I have new cap, rotor and wires all routed correctly. The distributor is also good. Miss is intermittent, i.e. doesn't happen all the time and is worse when the car is cold. Showing no timing is being pulled by the computer on the scanner when it happens. It feels like voltage to the distributor is being cut in half or wires are shorting out on the headers but the wires are perfect. I have a 6AL box on the car. If I unplug the 6AL the problem almost completely goes away, though the car does it worse with the 6AL, like it's magnifying the problem. I really don't think its the box but I want to be sure before I ship it back to MSD.

I had this problem recently and it was a little cut in my plug wire. They are Holley Annihilator wires, but they weren't burned, just had a liitle cut, almost as clean as a razor blade cut, and they were arcing off the valve cover. Crank the car at night, and take a look, and you may be able to see. Just a suggestion......

P.S. It was when I swapped over from a HEI with a Hypertech Coil, and Accel module to the Holley Annihilator ignition box when I noticed my problem, so the extra voltage coming from the MSD would amplify this problem.

I had a high rpm miss once, and it was because my intake bolts backed out a little, try and tighten yours.

Check your timing also.

Rob, I just went through something similar a couple weeks ago. I had a miss under load, at 4000 and above in 3rd gear, and 3000 and above in 4th gear. It was like a rev limiter cutting in.

I got home and looked for the obvious signs, but there were non. Plug wires, MSD connections, all appeared good. I then started the engine, and with it somewhat dark in the garage. I first heard sort of a 'click' sound, and then went to the sound. I then 'saw' the problem. The MSD connectors I had made, were arcing even though they were still connected together.

What happened was the connectors got slightly loose from years of use and vibration. That was enough to make them arc, even though they were fully seated together. I simply pulled them apart, crimped the female spade a bit more, and reconnected them. Problem solved.

If you have a stock ing. module thats your problem. They start loosing power at 4500. I had the same problem with mine, I replaced the mod. and it was fine.

Hope I helped,
