2.8 not starting Helppp

I just purchased a 87 2.8 camaro that isn;t starting for me. The car won't start even when fed fuel so I checked the spark. It seems very weak. My first thought was a weak coil but after doing some checking I see it could possibly have some other possible causes. Any advice on what to start with and what to check? It would be greatly appreciated. The car will fire occasionally and try to run but won't start. Thanks in advance. Rick

How are you feeding it fuel?

Try unplugging the MAF sensor; the three-wire sensor between the throttle body air hose and the "Y"-shaped air box. Then crank the engine.

You should buy a fuel pressure gauge (for port fuel injection). Mine was $40 from Pep Boys. That way, you'll "rule out" the fuel problem, and can work on the spark problem. Some places might rent you the gauge, too.

Did the car ever start for you? Or did you have it towed to your house? Maybe the gas is just way too old to ignite.
