Check engine soon light
My engine light keep coming on when the car get warmed up, but then it turns off. Then about 5 min later it comes back on again. I think it's the O2 sensor but I'm not certain. I want to be able to check what the engine light is saying. Them Chevy dealer down the road said it would be 85 dollars to check it. (bulls**t) Is there any other way to have it checked?

A paper clip and the ALDL.
Locate the ALDL under the driver side knee bolster. It looks kind of like a plug recepticle. Straighten out a paperclip and jam one end into the upper right hand port (top row, farthest to the right). Jam the other end in the port directly to the left of it. Once the paper clip is in place, turn the key to the on position, without starting it. Watch the CEL. It will blink out the codes. It will start with code 12 (blink -pause- blink, blink). Following that, it will display any trouble codes.

Once you pull the codes, go here:

Scroll all the way down to the bottom, second to the last Q&A. There is a list of all the trouble codes.
