Alternator Questions

84 Z28 L69 Carbed

Does my car use a plug in or a One-Wire type alternator?
Does anyone have the MSD ignition Advanced Power System Alternator? - Which bracket do you need to mount it to our cars?

If im correct, a stock alternator runs about 90amps, if I were to install a 160 amp alternator, would this be drawing more horsepower to create the extra amps, or would the quality parts in the new alternator be making up the extra amps?

Plug-in.

I don't know anything about the MSD unit.

The alternator only uses power to create it. It only creates it when it's demanded. The power it takes is proportional to the power it makes, with some small effeciency factor which probably couldn't be quantified on an engine dyno.
