Is this the knock sensor...

under my TPI plenum near the fuel pressure regulator, there is some kinda sensor plugged into the manifold....

what is it?

for some reason i think i disconnected the two wires that connect to it.

Will this cause it to not start?

Man the knock sensor is on the block, how would it detect knock in the plenum? Why such a silly question, wouldnt iy have been easier to plug it back in than ask that question?

Do a seach under this kids name. You will see that this is on par with the rest of his ill-advised, pointles posts.

No but it needs to be fixed.....also, you said earlier it was under your plenum and plugged into the manifold. Which is it? It's either the sensor underneath the plenum or the sensor that is in the "manifold." The plenum and manifold are not the same.

I have said this before, I will say it again:

Shane, take your car to a garage. Have a real mechanic fix it. Someone who knows what the hell they are doing.

Maybe, but it's a legitimate question. If this were anyone else several people would be glad to help. But because it's shane everyone is pissing on him. Yes he could have done a search but it was a "to the point" question and I don't mind answering it. I am one of the first guys to give him crap when he's being stupid but I thought this question was different.

No, this question really isn't that different. A normal person would have the common sence "ok, car doesn't start, lets see if anything looks amiss..oh here's a plug, I wonder where it came from? Oh, right here perhaps. I wonder if that was the cause?" And so on. It's called troubleshooting. A little common sense to begin with. From there, yes, I can see a post from him and I wouldn't be so ragged.

That's fine if you want to answer it, thats up to you.

I see the plug you are talking about and it appears that the one wire is cut off. Am I correct and if it is, why?

Yes it is different...it can be difficult to do a search for something you dont have a name for. You could have just answered the question and moved on. He was troubleshooting and found the broken wires. Maybe you should find some other form of entertainment for today. The thread actually belongs in on the TPI forum.

Looking at those pics all you have to do is take the sensor out and resplice the wires back on and clip the sensor back in. You dont have to remove it from the plenum. Unclip the sensor...
