Raw fuel [LIQUID] coming out of tailpipes!
Well, I just had a carbed 350 thrown into my car and when I started it the yesterday, I walked around to the back because I saw a just little bit of bluish-black smoke from the exhaust. It was dripping a lot of gas out of both tailpipes. Is my stock carb not burning the fuel? carb is supposed to be computer controlled but I dont have the computer and wires so its doing it's own thing right now. I also need to know if I switch to non computer controlled carb and distributor will that solve my problem? Thanks for the help.

are you positive that it's gasoline? that's an awful long way for gasoline to travel. it's very likely condensation (water) that is just clinging to cold pipes.
or else I'd say you have a serious overfueling problem, and/or an ignition dealie.

first off the carb doesnt burn fuel. my guess is with the changes in temperature that it is 95% likely to be condensation. now you may be smelling gas and assuming the the liquid is in fact gas itself. your motor may be running rich which might cause that gasoline smell but i highly doubt that gas is coming directly out of the tailpipes.

Is it possible for a carb not to mix the gas with the air and just pour it into my intake? But it should still burn when it gets into the engine right? If I stand by the back of the car I end up smelling I spilled gas on myself. The smell is just like gas straight from the pump.

Easy to tell. After running the car for a minute or two, shut off the car, have a fire extinguisher handy, and try to light the SMALL pool of liquid with a bbq lighter or match. You'll know if its gas or not.

And yes, you'll need to get a non CC carb on there along with a vacuum or mechanical advance distributor before it's going to run right. There's no in-between. Either it's CC or conventional. Take your pick.
EDIT: And please people, don't tell anyone to light thier car on fire!! They might actually do it!

I got a non cc Accel distributor I wanna use but who makes good carbs for street/strip daily drivers? I was looking at edelbrock 600 electric choke. Is any certain brand good for cold starts?

really ? or were you being facetious ?
I don't see how trying to ignite a small puddle of condensation is going to hurt anyone. Some of us just need to prove it to ourselves, i guess.

let the 'gas' drizzle out of the exhaust pipe into those disposable plastic cups or similiar, if its gas it will eat right through it almost instantly.

It'll all become clear at that point.
