Roller Rocker rebuilds

How long or how many miles is it neccessary before someone would consider rebuilding a pair of aluminum roller rocker arms?

i'd trash them and get another set, of steel one, but at any rate i'd just get a new set if i questioned the integrety of the ones on the engine.

Probably the route I will go, just wondering. How do you know when they are bad?
