Timming good but knocks with rattle
Have put new timming gears and chain on. Has knock in front right side with slight rattling noise. Thought was spark knock adjusted timming and still knocks. Oil presure is steady at 60. has no noticable vibration. Car runs great and idles fine but knock gets so loud can not talk above it.
have just noticed slight oil leak under exhaust manifold but can not see where comming from. Did just replace valve cover gasket but do not see oil near valve cover.
any ideas where i should start.

Did it make the noise before you did the timing set?
About the only things that could be right/front are the fuel pump and lifters. Unless it's actually a belt-driven assessory like the A.I.R. pump or alternator.

Yes noise was there just before car shut down last month or so a go.
old timming chain could almost came off with out removing gears. it had jumped almost 180*. Started car with new set and had all accesories off as well as timming cover just long enough to make sure it was going to start. it started and was knocking/rattling just like before shut down.
put back together and adjusted timming noise still there. put hose "stethescope" to engine knock is in front right side toward center of engine. took valve covers off rockers look fine and are not rattling.
