Vader, or any other car genius...I have a surging problem
Vader, or any other car genius...I have a surging problem
I just changed my fuel filter and its still surging. Its kinda wierd because after 5-10 min of running the surging stops and the car runs normal. Even if the car is warm it will still do this.
I will drive to the store, by the time I get there the surging stopped, Im in the car 5 min, come back out it surges for 5 more min, then its fine.
What might be the problem?
------------------
89 camaro 305 tbi, flomaster 3 chamber cat back, gutted cat, Edlebrock TES Headers, Exhaust cutout, Edlebrock open element, 160 degree T-stat, and a Stage 2 FastChip.
2 kicker comp 12"'s, polk for the rest. Phoenix gold xs2300 to subs, kicker impulse 404XI to 4 speakers, pioneer DEH- P7000R head unit, and finally a 12 disc changer. Full leather interior from http://www.MrMikes.com

Dieing fuel pump, dieing injectors
Those are my top two guesses.

Mods:
Removed air baffles, mandrel bent cat-back pipes (but stock replacment muffler, Dynomax Turbo and Catco converter are on thier way)

well i'm sure as hell not near as smart as vader and i'm more of a dumbass than anything, but i'll take a guess at it. i'd check the tune up, always a good place to start, fuel preasure and volumn, the injectors, and egr. be good to run it on a scanner to check the injector and other engine parameters.

Take the IAC out of the throttle body. Clean it with carb cleaner and also clean inside the TB where the IAC goes.
While you have it apart clean the TB thoroughly.
Also run a code scan. You may have a faulty CTS.
Lotsa' luck....

Check your Throttle Position Sensor. This is the second time that I have to get mine replaced. It's a little black piece of plastic with a plug and 3 wires on the left side of your TBI.
IT only started to surge I think after I put in some STP fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank. It said it treated up to 20 gallons and I put in 13 gallons of gas. I figured it may have been bad gas and/or cleaner so I jsut added 8 more gallons of a different company's gas. It still surges though.
