Get the Trick Flow, the Fastburns will require a special intake manifold.

The Fast burns won't fit the HSR you have now. Holley just released a Vortec base for it.

Or go with teh Dart/WP Sportsman II heads - they have the fast burn chamber and are available either cast iron (like mine) or aluminum --- and use "standard" SBC manifolds (not the Vortec type).

I dont see the sportsman II being a better head than the trickflows. THe last time I looked at flow charts, the trickflows outflowed them from .200 lift all the way to .700 lft.

the trickflows defenitly. they are good heads especially for the price you can find a set for and should get you to 400 hp.

im using an older set of the 23 degree trickflows and will be around 450hp (hopefully)

basics are:

forged 383 10.5:1 CR
trickflow 23 degree heads
custom comp cam .544/.555 lift 230/236 duration 112 lsa
holley stealthram

dd2000 says thats good for 487 hp and 491 tq but thats pushing it. im guessing around 450-460 flywheel hp and 480 flywheel tq.
but i always have my 150 shot

Every once and a great while ljnowell and I actually agree on something.

The sportsmans are NOT better than trickflows. I spent 5 years married to sportsmans.. Now I use trickflow.

I thank all of you for the info you gave me so far,Its been a big big help,The cam i didnt do to long ago i did it when the motor was out of the car, i really dont want to do a cam again so,Im going with a set of 1.6 roller rockers, That should give the hot cam a little more lift.If i could get the car into the low to mid 12s, ill be happy
