????Cleaning Stock Rubber Intake Parts

Hey guys, what product out there is capable of througly cleaning the worn in dirt and grime on TPI, LT-1 and various other black OEM rubber intake parts. Like the LT-1 Elbow, and TPI Ducting, I know others have ran into this before, I've scrubbed and scrubbed those things, and still they have the dirty grime on them. Thanks in advance. I'm currently doing a couple of LT-1 swaps, one on a 68 RS SS, and the other one on my 88 Monte SS. This really frustrates me alot. I know I could buy new elbows, but why when I have these good ones. I don't want to use some caustic chemicals, which would destroy the rubber, or dry it out. Any help would be great .

Also what type flexible paint is capable of restoring the color, or enhancing the overall look of these OEM rubber intake parts?

did you try simple green full strenght? that stuff is great cuts everything off for grime and such. anopther trick is to clear coat the stuff makes it look shiney and new. but you need it clean first. we also used and all purpose cleaner at the detail shop. no idea what it is though other than all porpose concentrate that we would mix with water. nasty stuff burns your hands if not cut enough.

try the simple green......

Hey thanks Jeff, I will try the Simple Green. It appears that is what everyone else is using as well, others have said exactly what you've said . Thanks again.

That's what I use on mine and then from there I also use Son of a Gun on it. It give it a slight shine and also helps keep dust off. Plus when it does wear off you aren't left with a "grime" look.
