Coolent in passenger footwell, Help!
Hi,
after i came back from the shops today, i noticed a puddle of green liquid in the passenger footwell, i assume it is coolent as my coolent is also green, also i noticed the coolent in the recovery tank had gone down my about 1-2 inches ( i noticed this before i started the car this morning). I took off the trim panel and saw a box thing, with a cable that moves when i move the heater leaver from cold to hot, so i assume this is the heater core? i could not see any tubes so does this mean the core is broken and needs to be replaced? i checked in the engine bay and every thing seems fine. are there any tubes inside the car that are hidden and could be split? also the liquid seems to be comeing from the bottom edge of what i believe to be the core and also from the leaver at the bottom that the control cable connects to, but i am not too sure on the achual source of the leak.
can any one advise me on this?
oh yes if it helps, my car has air conditioning and i usally leave the heater in the hot position and on the windscreen de-mist function (leaver far right) as it is usally misted up in the mornings.
Thank You.

Sounds like the heater core has gone bad. Major pain to replace. Do a search and you should find answers to questions you may have.

Yep, heater core is the most likely suspect. Not complicated to replace, just difficult to get to.

Very straight forward replacement however difficult to access some screws. The only tools you should need include a 7mm nut driver, and pliers to pinch the clamps open. First repair I ever did in my car, and I was 16 years old.

Sounds like you need a heater core, hoss. Very easy to do. Took me only 1/2 hour to do the whole job, and its cheap too.
