Ok guys, I need a bit of help.

82 Camaro
V6
Auto Tranny

Symptoms:

Car idles roughly, when placed into drive or reverse car holds RPM but acts as though it wants to cut out. I noticed the Choke relay was bad (clicking/buzzing) so I replaced it. The carb is new as of March. I have NOT replaced the fuel filter. How do I get to it? Car smells like it is running rich which also tipped me off on the choke.

I suspected an ignition problem. Battery looks strong. Plugs seem ok, plug wires could use replacing but shouldn't have worked 2 weeks ago and now the car is undriveable. I thought the alternator might be week but that would not have cause idle issues. Air filter is new and symptoms occur even with the filter housing removed.

Any thought or advice here would be good. I don't have a fuel PG or I would test the delivery.
