Broken Mounting Tab

Have a rebuilt 85 305 that I bought that has the mounting tab/ear on the top of the engine where the transmission bolts to the block. From the look of it, somebody evidently tried to use too long of a bolt which then passed thru the ear, hit the slope of the block and broke off about half of the tab. Options as I see it are 1) forget it and don't worry. Try something like JB Weld with a helicoil or 3) try to build the are with weld . Figure you guys would have as good of an opinion as anybody. Help !

if only half is missing i'd probably stick a good solid washer and a slightly longer bolt in there, got a pic?
