ok ive got an 89 firbird i ve been working on the past 2 years
all suspention rebuilt frame connectors ,tubular lca,panhard ,torque arm,strut brace
rebult auto w/ b&m shift kit,and shifter hooker exhaust,3 inch cat
its now ready to do somting with the engine a stock 305 tbi

the car is a daily driver ,some brisk back road driving, no real drag racing. i own a 99 ls1 6 speed camaro,and a 93 lt1 t/a would like to have comparable power from my 89,

do i mod the 305? heads, cam ,ect?
buy a used 350 tbi first then add a few mods
look for a tpi 350 first to swap

need to balace out cost-ease-power

car also needs to pass pa emmision and am gettin started now on reading up on tunning

i ithnk you need to establish a budget and induction system to make a good choice. i'd look at a 350 since power to cost will work out much better than a 305.

 

on induction the tbi would be cheaper and easier to learn to tune than anything else ?
as for a budget 2500 max would like it to be less have priced a caprice 350 from a local yard i deal with at 200 running
the rebuld i could do myself
