Engine: Hot Cam 355/TPI 305

Transmission: All 700r4's

Computer Codes

Ok I went to the tech section and was following the route to read the codes. I used the 6&12 pin and the 5&6 but the ses light just stays on. (the car is running rich...backfires in the TBI when you hit the gas fast not when you go slow. Car has little power.)

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope its that the terminals arent connected with whatever you are using...

Borrowing a couple pics from Vader here

Its the top 2 on the right you want to connect together, I assume thats what you were doing connecting 5 and 6. Make sure you have a good connection between them and it should start flashing the light... if not, the wiring has a problem or the ecm could be bad. Does the SES stay on all the time, or just sometimes?

Yes those are the connectors I am using. The ses light stays on all the time. I have no egr or smog crap however fastchip took those out of my prom.

More info the other day it would not idle when I let the throttle close it would die. I just turned the idle screw and it worked.....Could I have masked a bigger problem.
