305 HO engine exchanged,I suspect they used the non-HO cam in new block..

I know,I should have just got a 350 while I had the chance,this was a quality reman long block exchange, not from autozone or something, I had it proffesionally installed, I think they might have used the incorrect cam at the reman. shop because it doesn't seem to have as much ballz as the old 5.0 HO did. it runs great but seems a bit weak into the 2500+ rpm range,kind of unusual considering it's got 5k miles on it. is there any way of knowing for sure with out taking it apart? it will have a new cam by the end of the summer so I will find out eventually.if it does turn out to be the wrong cam,I can say something about it,but that will most likely void my warranty. thanks

Axle/Gears: 9 bolt 3.27
The HO motors had more compression then the standard 305. You may have lost some in the swap.

Checkout the timing curve... you might need to do some tuning.
