Compression and Octain Levels

How much compression can I get on a L98 and still use 89 octain gas. I know stock you are able to run 87 but for 89 how much compression and for 93 what are we looking at?

lot of varables involved to say 89 is good for x.y:1 compression and 93 is good for y.x:1 compression. aluminum heads disapate heat a lot better than iron and allow for more compression with out ping. you'd pretty much be splitting hairs trying to built and engine to run on 89 but not 87.

There is little benefit in using a higher octane fuel than you need. After finding the correct octane, any more is just an unnecessary expense.
