Why Is Tranny Fluid Leaking from here??

I needed an answer quick and it seems more people come to this message board more often, the other day I was going down the road and noticed white smoke under acceleration. When I got home I noticed tranny fluid everywhere under the car, about 3 qts. leaked out. Well I got under the car today and on the passenger's side there is what seems to be a sending unit ( I guess not too sure) it has a black and red wire but the red wire broke off, the unit screws into the tranny. It appears this is where it is leaking from and right now it is leaking just a drip at a time and the same if I start the car and put it in drive, but if I drive normally at high rpm this stuff comes out like crazy. Any ideas, I tried checking to see if it was loose but by hand it wouldn't turn.

MAS,

This is probably the connector for the TCC lockup solenoid. The valve body that this operates is under hydraulic pressure, and a blown TCC connector can allow fluid to leak as you describe.

Is this the connector?

TCC connector is on the driver's side, not the passenger's side.

Thats what I was thinking too Apeiron.

Isnt there a pressure tap on the passenger side, maybe its an aftermarket sender for tranny temp or pressure and its just leaking? Red and black wires arent anything factory that I know of down by the tranny, IIRC the TCC wires are blue, purple, and green or something like that.

Yeah you guys are right it isn't the TCC that is on the driver's side, I went to Trak and bought a new one and some permatex, it isn't leaking as bad, I will have to do some more driving to be sure though.
