SLP Headers? What problems have you come across?

Thinking about getting these for my 88 GTA. I have heard of people having problems with them fitting, and getting hot. What kind of problems have you encountered if any?

I have the 1 3/4" off-road SLP headers.
I had to cut the y-pipe because it was too wide. Welded it back under the oil pan.
Also the header contacted the steering shaft, no real problem there.

I have the SLP 1 5/8 and a catco cat with an SLP catback and the only problem I had with them was the SLP cat conector that I purchaced with it didn't give a good fit to the catco cat, I purchaced a 3" stainless band clamp and it worked out fine. I wish I had the money to get them coated but even with the mild surface rust color they look good. The main pain in the a** is removing all of the stock exhaust and air pipes, after that it was a piece of cake.

I purchased the 1 5/8. The only problems I have are the bolts that came with the kit and the Y-pipe. I plan on replacing the header bolt with allen type heads. As far as the Y-pipe, it barely clears my SFC. Noticeable throttle responce since replacing the iron headers. SPL headers and Borla exhaust makes a good combination.
