Temp sensor switch......Will it work that well?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting I know if you put the sensor in a diffrent place so its cooler you can add a few HP but is this nuts or what do you guys think about this switch set up here?

telling the engine that the air is more dense than it really is when it reaches the combustion chamber only causes it to add more fuel. If it's burned it will give you some more power, but it mostly just wastes fuel and causes you to run too rich.

I take it that mounts in place of/in line with the IAT sensor? If it does its probably a waste of time as the IAT doesnt have much effect on fueling with some of the ecms.

the effect of running the engine cooler with a cooler thermostat is not the same as tricking the engine into thinking it has a denser air charge than what it really has. With a cooler t-stat and manual switch, your engine still gets accurate readings of what the air density and temp is when it is going into the combustion chamber. It still mixes the fuel correctly. Sure you'll have it add more fuel due to everything being a bit cooler, but the ratio will be correct. Moving the temp sensor away from the engine to some colder place gives the engine false readings, making it unable to correctly mix the fuel, it adds more than it should.
as for that switch, it's crap, they have conflicting statements about it's abilities on it's own ebay page, at the top it says it increases mileage, down further it says it doesn't do anything to mileage. Making the engine run cooler than what the computer wants it to be is useless.
