Anyone using comp cams 978 valve springs
I was thinging of using these springs:
Comp Cams 978 Valve Springs
1.46 2 springs
.691ID
126@1.850 Seat Load
368@1.25 Open Load
1.195 Coil Bind
403lbs/in Rate
With this cam installed with 1.6 roller rockers
Comp Cams XR288HR
IN: 236 / EX: 242 Duration
IN: .520 / EX: .540 Lift with 1.5 rockers
IN: .555 / EX: .576 Lift with 1.6 rockers
110 LSA
1.850-1.25-.06=.595in Max Lift ???
Installing them on TrickFlow 23 degree heads with previously installed:
1.470" o.d. single with damper
120 lbs. @ 1.780" installed height
300 lbs. @ 1.280" open
360 lbs. per inch rate
.540" maximum valve lift
I am wondering if these springs would the the best for this setup. Why is it that everyone recomends the 986 valve springs???
