hey vader, here one for ya
since you are the only one that replyed to my post that i did about 2 days ago, i want your opinion. it was about the 84 h.o. remember it was rusted. i wondered if you think that i should give it a shot. or do you think i should completely stay away from rust. i did the post on june 23 and i'm green-is. thanx
Hi, I live in Australia, and if a car like that crossed my path I would buy it for that price without a second thought. I bought my 83 Z28 for $12,000.
But I do realise that cars over there are found for that price in ok condition. But I also think that a car of that age is going to have some rust no matter were you look, unless it is always garaged. It really depends on how bad the rust is. It can also be costly to fix. But you also dont have to fix it if you dont want to. If you are going to do a car up completely then I dont see why you shouldnt jump at this car. And being a one lady owner car, I doubt she has cut and welded and modified the car. So it would be a good start. But if you are after something to jump straight into and cruise the streets looking like 'da man, then maybe this is not the car for you.

For all the rest of you, this was the topic:

If the rust is limited to the surface and accessible places (that can be accessed for thorough repairs) you might want to offer her Kelly Blue Book value for it. It's worth a try. Trade-in value is around $675.00.

It doesnt snow here Vader, so we are pretty warm
It gets to about 3-4 degrees on the coldest nights. But I dont wake up with popsicles on my exhaust tips
The main reason for the high prices for camaros/'birds over here is because of the exchange rate and the cost of converting from left hand drive to right hand drive. You can buy 85-88 Irocs for around 6k-8k LHD and not licenced for the road.
It costs my twice as much as you guys to get parts for my car and then plus shipping and plus government import taxes! So consider yourselves very lucky!!! It cost me $140 for a pair of SC taillights that were $25US for the pair. (pretty average condition). Oh well, I LOVE THESE CARS!!!

Congratulations Lars!
I'm getting sick of mine.
I want it to go ultra fast.
I think there are some 2001 civic models that are faster than my slow 305 TBI. I'm so sad.
