rims or 9"
heh, ive been trying to decide this the past few days... i still havent decided fully...
ok, heres what i have:
1991 camaro convertible. it has a LS1 in it. it has a cam, and some other mods...
i daily drive her. i would love for her to be a car i can show people and go "hey, thats my car." and have them actually like it.
currently she has the stock rims. with brakedust somehow below parts of the clearcoat... :shakehea:
now heres my situation:
i drag race on the weekends. i have a set of rims and tires for that, so its not a issue.
i have 2 spare rears. so if i blow up a 10bolt, no biggie.
im near the end of the point where i'll have alot of cash to spend on the car... im going to have a few more bills soon, moving on with life, ect.... so i donno when i'll be able to get the other one from my choices here..
heres my choices.
1. get the killer rims. they would transform the look of the car.. basicly make it look like ive been dreaming of ever since i wanted to build a 3rdgen camaro convertible... this goes along with my whole "car pride" thing.....
2 get the 9" rear... it would let me launch my car without worry.. i could drive to darlington, or even up north or out west to some of the other tracks, race, and drive back.. its the solution to the last mechanical weak link to the car... and smart insurance with the way i drive...
i really cant decide.

It seems like you already have a lot of go. Now its time for some show. When was the last time you trashed the rearend. I like to look good while i am good fast. Dont be like one of those guys that have a sweet engine fast as all outdoors but the car is primer. You should have a good balance of show and go. I like to look good as well as go fast. If you need the rearend some where down the line you'll find the money

Fast cars in primer show priority. Get the drivetain installed and figured out before you candy coat the thing and worry about damaging it.
As nice as it will look with new rims, personally I'd opt for the last peice of your bullet proof puzzle and be done with it. Then you can move onto the frilly stuff. After going thorugh 4 of these 10bolts I will never miss the day of pulling rears and swapping parts just get to the next points race or scrambbling trying to find the right parts to swap between all of them to make one that'll work.
Especially if your driving to the track and back, a tow bill might be kind of expensive when you frag a factory rear. Been there done that several times so I speak from experience. And that was with the small motor too!!

get the 9" and polish your stock wheels. two birds with one stone and the wheels won't cost that much to do!
