What the hell does code 36 mean??

Can someone tell me what this means?? I would appreciate it immensely. I hope its not the MAF at fault cuz thats pricey... Thx


36. Burn off at mass air flow sensor OR
Problem in transmission shift OR
Fault in direct ignition system OR
Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal

I'll go by your codes you listed and the engine in the car...would indicate that you're not getting a burnoff signal to the MAF, most likely cause would be a faulty relay, or poor connections, I'd start there before replacing a MAF.

If you have a DVM I could give you the test procedure to see if the relay is at fault or not.

chances are its just the 15$ relay on the driver side firewall..
