To be honest, I don't think the base will be something you can really feel. You might gain like 10hp from it. And before you put in on the car, you might want to smooth any roughness in it. I have the Accel Superram system in my car, and I just but the top on. I had the TPI with just the base and I didn't really notice anything. However, it will give you much more breathing potential if and when you go ahead and do the whole intake. However, with your hotter cam it is possible you might notice some increase. Good luck.

87 GTA 350 L98
K&N filter, beefed up TH-700r4, Accel Manifold, Superram, Fuel Press. Regulator 49.5psi, air foil, modified MAF, SLP cold air box, Accel 24lb Injectors, Hypertech Thermomaster chip w/160 thermostat, MSD 6AL and Blaster 3, B&M shift kit & megashifter, Moser Ford 9in Rear with Richmond 3.50 and locker, Edlebrock TES headers and Cat Back,Gutted cat, removed emissions, Hotchkis setup in rear, Poly suspension and Koni in the front, relocated MAT, bypassed TB coolant

If you are using the stock runners, I don't think it will help much. Get that intake or your stock one ported and/or extrude honed for more flow, and get some better runners.

Thanks guys, I didn't think it would be much, but the new runners will be going on sometime in the near future, maybe in August or so. I will post my results with the new intake just for reference.
