Car again!! Please Help !!
Ok, I got the car to start a few times, but never when it is cold. My dad and I are stumped, because when it starts it has full power and doesn't die or anything. You can even shut it off and start it up again just fine, but if you let it cool down too long it won't start. I checked the trouble codes, using the paper clip method, but it just kept flashing the 12 code over and over again, besides the stand 3 times. And is it normal to hear a buzzing sound when you check them? Some people have said that its the pump, but my dad keeps saying that it somthing else, but he doesn't know what, so thats not really any help.
Please I need help, there is a girl that wants to go on a date with me, but she won't ride in my beater car, and she wants to ride in the camaro, besides that my beater is on the verge of death, exhaust broke of at the converter, and the belts are all messed up.
What happens is it won't start, but the times it has we have had the entire air intake assembly off, and it hooked up to the battery charger, plus the have been warm sunny days over, 45 degrees.
Any help would be much appreciated

little more relivent info would help out a lot, like what sort of car/engine/induction. lot less irrelivent info would also help. have you tried any trouble shooting other than scanning the codes? how about the tune up? is it good?

I'm guessing the car is in good tune, ie. plugs cap rotor wires, fuel filter. Maybe to start check the CTS. If the coolant temp sensor is stuck high. (Short to ground internal) the ecm will not add fuel enrichment when cold. I'd check the coolant temp sensor when its cold. Located in the front of the intake above the water pump. If that doesn't help, you will need a fuel pressure gauge, maybe a scan tool or at least a DVOM. Try to start there, then move on to other stuff.
Good luck

It's an 89 Iroc, with 305 Tpi, wiring is all hacked up, guy that owned it before me installed electric fans, don't know if that is relevant. Um, it cranks fine, but when it is cold it won't start, when it's warmer or in the sun it will start right up. I am just confused, and I know I haven't got a pressure gauge but I'm trying to get one, very difficult to work on your car when your parents won't let you use the garage. Like I said though once it starts it will continue to start, until you let it cool down for a few hours.

OK yesterday it was really nice, so I got the car out, to try and figure out whats wrong, it wouldn't start till about 1:30 when it was above 50 degrees, we found out that the pump isn't priming the motor at all, but when its warm the car will start right up, I put a new Coolant Tempature Sensor in, to no avail. Then we put the car up on stands, and saw that the wiring running to the pump had been spliced. Two questions could the wiring being spliced, be causing my problems, or if it isn't is there some other that controls the pump that isn't working?
