what is with the 416 heads. just found out that i have a set on my 83 z28. i have seen a lot of people talking about them. also what are they worth.

They're worth about $25 if you deliver. They're UNBELIEVABLY common. They were on basically every 305 made from about 82 to 86. Millions and millions of them out there.

They suck in stock form; but they have material in the right places to where they have some performance potential, with relatively little risk of cracking or other nasty things. Plus, they have those small chambers, so they don't send your compression down to the level of the Model T; even when you open up the chambers, as you have to, when you install reasonable sized valves.

well if that is the case i will probelly let them go when i pull the motor. all ready have a enough crap laying around my parents house don't need any more.
