i didn't know if all camaros had this problem or not but when goin down the highway when i am doin 70mph and let off the gas the rpms stay reving high at 2500 and instead of slowin down the car keeps going faster and the other night i went into a takeout and there was crush rock on the ground and the car was revin high and when i pushed in on the brakes the front tires slid across the rocks because the car was reving 1500 and still pullin. i was wonderin if anyone had any ideas on what that could be??????????????

 

Sounds to me like a major vacumn leak. Have u performed any mods to your motor prior to the problem? Any check engine light codes? We need more info.

Is your minimum air speed adjusted properly? Check the tech articles section for this procedure. Check for vacuum leaks like 86 said.

Keep it simple, make sure your return spring is not trash. This happened to me, I just added another spring. Problem fixed!
