You need to make sure you have the correct brackets for the correct pump. A 79 truck application will have a long nose pump just like the one pre serpentine 3rdgens use although the brackets are slightly different to the point they will not interchange with stock clock posistion of the alternator. You will have to find the correct brackets for you application and since your using 79 truck peices it has to fit a 79 truck.

It's a small block Chevy with heads that have the accessory bolt holes. It doesn't matter what sheet metal it was wrapped in before you got it, and it doesn't matter what sheet metal you're wrapping it in. It's a small block Chevy.

Put your 305 water pump and brackets and alternator on it. All that stuff will bolt right up, fit perfect, and work fine. Then send back the stupid chrome one that fits some other car. That's nothing but using your own money as the ammunition to shoot yourself in the shorts with.

Don't outsmart yourself or go out of your way to make extra unnecessary work for yourself.

If you have a serpentine setup why would you even bother with the chrome or truck brackets? Serpentine is the only way to go unless its a SP or race car.

You will need to use your TBI's water pump or a water pump thats reverse rotation.

If you do a quick search you will find the part numbers for smog and ac delete pullys. There not too expensive $20-30 a peice. Some creative TGO members have also found most interesting ways to delete those two items. I had the thread book marked but blew my system a couple days ago so now I dont.
