What kind of braking, did you say?

I don't think you have anything to wory about. Just don't do the typical high-school type thing, and do big steamy one-wheel-burnouts on wet pavement like 6-cyl people seem to like to do; that will cause VERY short rear end life.

If you had a temp gauge on the tranny and diff, you would see a great big spike in temps from power breaking for more than just a few seconds. This can cause just about any thing in the tranny to fail, from the sun shell to the clutches to the band. The rearend will suffer wear to the gears because of over heated lube, and too the bearings, seals and even the lube can be damaged. The rear brakes will over heat, burning the shoes, scortching the drums, ect.
I power brake my Firebird all the time!! I love it!

LOL....That reminds me of the time(I was 14)when my brother got a 67 ss impalla. First car he ever owned, it had a weak 283-327 in it. Cant remember which, but he thought it was so cool reving that thing up in nuetral. And dropping it in drive, it would barely turn the N50s over for two feet. Didnt take long before the tranny went out. Stupid

Man i miss that car double dating on saturday nights. UH...SORRY what was the topic about!
