Transmission: T56, 700r4, 700r4, 4l460
golen engines

has anyone bought a stroker or regular motor from golen engines out of new hampishere. just wanted some feed back on the company.i am having them build up a stroker for me and just wanted to see how they were. they have had build ups for super chevy before and they sound like they really know what they are doing. thanks guys for any feed back

thanks for the advice i didnt think of doing a search. as far as i see only one person ripped them but he also says that they are doing about 5 warranty jobs a week. dont know but they have done build ups for super chevy, hpc, car caft so i would say they have to be some whaat good

You are probably right about that.

Now, I have no idea how far you are from Golen, but if they are any distance, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

First, they are going to charge you shipping.

Second, if there is a problem, do you have to pull the engine and send it back?

There's a guy around here (So Cal), a former drag racer, who is a member of this board, who's built quite a few engines. He can build an engine every bit as good as any shop, and probably for less money. Not only that, but if there is a problem with the engine, he's there to stand behind it.

I tend to prefer someone local

golen is a little under three hour drive. i am on the east cost and i really havent found anyone around in this aera that builds strokers that know what they are doing. the only person i found in state that has a name for himself is big al's toy box but everything he builds is for juice, charged or blown. CHP and super chevy both have used golen before so i would have to say they know something about it. also i am only ordeing a short block from them cause i have my own heads,cam and so on.
