305 Cam Question...Please Help
I know, search the forums, everyone asks this question.
Well, I have a special situation,
I have a 305 that had a electronically controlled carb, but now it's standard controlled carb, with a standard HEI distributor. I have dynomax headers, exhuast, and a 5 speed tranny. What cam should I run? I want something that I can daily drive, but has a sweet sound and idles OK, it doesn't have to be perfect. I want to gain some power. Also, should I replace the springs as well? I don't want to do any head work, though.
Thanks,
Sage

Try a Comp XE262H. DEFINITELY put the right valve springs on it. Consider getting rid of the factory rubber rocker arms while you're at it. A set of Comp 1412s would be about perfect for that cam and an otherwise untouched motor, for not too much $$$.

I love my COMP XE-262. Coupled with my ported 416 heads, the car runs a lot stronger. I also added a COMP double roller timing chain (came with k-kit), new pushrods and the COMP rockers that RB listed.
