Are those numbers on a 305 bore or a 350 bore?
Those are numbers for a 305 bore, 350 bore flows marginally better, no more than 5 cfm on the intake side. No gains on the exhaust, IIRC.

Do those heads have the heat crossover?

How much more do you think they would flow if they were ported for 2.00/1.6 valves, or 2.02/1.6...a lot more or, "not worth" it more?

by the time you put that much work in them, you're in AFR territory $$$ wise

Re: Got flow numbers for those new 58cc trickflow heads

was that price earlier in this thread for an assembled set? if so what kind of cam size will those springs take? Also how much room for improvement you think we're talking cfm wise after a good port job.

as it stands thats realy just barely better/not as good as vortec heads in some aspects. At the same time it's alumninum and doesn't need machined tho i dunno tough decision. Definetly like the fact that someone else is offering a smaller combustion chamber head though.

Re: Got flow numbers for those new 58cc trickflow heads

The 175 cc heads seem like a great bargain but then again, its hard to say if its really worth it

Considering this, they have 56 cc chambers so it will keep your 305 compression up as well as a 350.

the flow numbers could be better for that runner, as AFR 180's flow in the 260 range and much better on the exhaust

trickflow has several spring choices, the cheaper 1000 dollar pair has weaker 1.25 single springs for weaker hydraulic flat tappets under .480 lift. The next spring is the bigger 1.47 inch for roller cams up to .540. thats 1130 for the heads now. AFR 180's are about 1400-1500 all said and done with lightweight LS1 style valvetrain stuff, but the 2.02 intake valve may be big for a 305 bore. Therefore the 175 TFS may be better for a 305

vortec heads flow just about as well and have a great combustion chamber design. requires a special intake but if you get one, you have to have the heads machined to handle extra lift or possibly shim the springs if your cam has shorter lift. scew in studs are recommended and 64cc chamber will drop compression. you can get vortecs setup for .550 lift for jsut over 600 a pair so they seem like a great deal

if you want weight savings i'd go Trick flow, but else its hard to beat vortecs or even mildly ported aluminum L98 heads. you can easily get 220-230 cfm on a L98 head and near 170-180 on exhaust. Thats enough to make some serious power on a 305

Re: Got flow numbers for those new 58cc trickflow heads

i do belive the 2.02 will work...granted they will be shrouded quite a bit...how would the shrouding affect the flow of the afr heads?
