rewiring fuel pump with relay and all
I did my searches, and came up with nothing.
Im completely rewiring the whole car. Only thing I left were leads to all the lights, windows, and most of the connectors on the steering column. I was just going to wire the fuel pump thru a switch and call it a day, but I wanna wire it in through the ignition switch. I see the tan/white wire from the ign switch that goes to the fuel pump, but how would I wire in the relay? The tan/white wire is pretty small, so that kinda ruled out the posibility of splitting that wire into both + on the relay, then one ground and one to pump. Seems like that wud be too much on that one wire. Which wire on the steering column (that goes to the fuse block) is on with ign, and start? Maybe I could wire the coil in the relay up to that, then the relay to the other 2 poles. what cha think?

If the tan/white wire is the stock fuel pump relay "swiching" wire, then use it.
A relay *typically* serves to shorten the length of the wire carrying all of the load, and to keep from running it through another switch. On the injected vehicles, its so the various controls (oil pressure, ignition, ECM) can "tell" the fuel pump what to do through the relay.
If you wired the tan/white wire to the relay, the other "switching" wire to ground, and then 12 volts from the battery to the relay, then from the relay to the fuel pump, the relay would switch on with the ignition.

I'm not a wiring guru but I'll tell you how I have mine set up.
I've got my pump on a toggle switch so I control when pump is on or off. but it'd be the same as your ignition wire.
I've got a wire going from Pos side of battery to circuit breaker then to the hot leg on the relay.
The ground on the relay is just a short jumper grounded to the chasis.
The accesory leg I have going down to the pump itself
Then use your ignition wire as the Switch wire.
That is the primary reason for using relays, so you dont have to use monster size wire to activate a big amp draw accessory. the relay takes the blunt of the load and you can use a small gauge wire to turn on the relay-which just allows power coming from the battery to go to the accessory.

Kinda like this? from my diagrams, the pink wire has power at ON and START, so it shud work
EDIT: also, im gettin autometer gauges. how cud I wire in the new sengind unit (if possible) to turn off the pump if my oil press drops, like if I get in a wreck or something? i dont want it pumping while Im sittin there, possibly unconcious
